Drosia scores 57 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Drosia has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 55 for property crime — and the 2 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Drosia. An estimated 1,967 people live there: the 2021 census counts the surrounding community as a whole, and this is its share by area.
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Drosia is actually like
A district on the eastern slope opposite the Agios Andreas General Hospital of Patras, which is what defines it. It is a mixed residential quarter of apartment blocks and older houses, with the population you would expect next to a major hospital: residents, medical staff, families of patients, and the cafes, pharmacies and parking pressure that come with it. Nobody visits Drosia except for the hospital. It borders Tabahana, Pagona and Aroi. Against those it is busier and better lit because of the hospital traffic, and like them it appears in none of the 2024-2026 police patrol or burglary listings.
After dark
Busier than most residential districts through the night because of hospital traffic, ambulances and shift changes, which keeps the main approaches lit and populated. Side streets are quiet. Police figures record 9 theft incidents at hospitals across Patras in the first nine months of 2025.
What to watch for
- Theft from vehicles and visitors around the hospital — 9 hospital incidents citywide in nine months of 2025
- Bags and belongings left unattended in waiting areas
- Quieter residential side streets away from the hospital approaches
Staying here
Practical if you have hospital business, with rooms and short lets nearby, otherwise unremarkable. Not a base for an early Italy ferry — take a taxi across the city to the South Port.
