Set against that, it is a settled neighbourhood with a Sunday flea market on Riga Fereou and a church square.

The documented issues here are environmental rather than criminal: residents have pressed for relocation of either the refineries or the homes nearest them, for stricter oversight and for green buffer zones, and the university took thirteen months of air measurements to February 2024 through March 2025 after persistent odour complaints. It is somewhere nobody stays rather than somewhere to avoid: there is no crime record attached to it, only no reason to be there.
