A coastal community of the Rio municipal unit on the northern shore, a seaside resort and a place of holiday and permanent residence for many Patras families. It sits in the strip between Aktaio and Psathopyrgos. Beaches, tavernas and summer houses; busy in season, quiet otherwise.
Lively along the shore in summer, near-empty out of season, with unlit stretches between settlements. A July 2026 police operation in Achaia included Agios Vasileios among the locations checked.
Good for a summer seaside stay with a car. A poor base for an early Italy ferry — you are well north of the city and a long transfer from the South Port.
