Kotroni scores 45 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for violent crime — average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Kotroni has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 47 for violent crime — and the 2 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Kotroni. An estimated 4,577 people live there: the 2021 census counts the surrounding community as a whole, and this is its share by area.
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Kotroni is actually like
A district in the north of the city, about 5 km from the centre, on level ground that slopes gently to the east, bordering Agyia, Ampelokipoi, Proastio (Bozaitika) and Sychaina. It has a landscaped square, Plateia Ellinon Logotechnon, with trees, flowering shrubs, a playground, benches and lighting, and an active cultural association, To Kotroni; the municipality has also built a new public staircase on Theotoki street. It is a residential quarter with a settled local population and no visitor attractions, on the way out towards the university: city buses on lines 601, 606 and 608 stop at Kotroni. Agyia next door has a Saturday-morning street market on Iktinou and Feidiou streets, alternating every four months with Kazantzaki street. Kotroni appears in none of the police patrol or burglary lists for 2024-2026.
After dark
Quiet and residential, with modest lighting and little late footfall off the main roads. No documented incidents or patrol priorities name Kotroni.
What to watch for

Staying here
No — nothing to book, nothing to see, and no advantage over the centre for either port. Choose the centre, Ano Poli or Agios Andreas.
