The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Efkarpia is actually like
The northern municipal unit of Pavlos Melas, around 15,500 people, and the newest and least dense of the three. It grew outward from an old settlement through worker housing in the east and the Efedroupoli development from the early 1990s, and it contains a string of small named sub-settlements including Nikopoli, Euxeinoupoli, Efedroupoli, Travmatioupoli, Anthokipoi, Filothei and Agios Georgios-Palia Efkarpia. It is described as one of the more promising residential areas on Thessaloniki's fringe, with an active property market. No crime reporting singles out Efkarpia in 2024-2026. Three weekly street markets (laiki) set up inside its outline on the map: two on Fridays, on M. Botsari and Mesolongiou streets, and one on Saturdays on Chalkidikis street, the market listed as Nea Efkarpia.
After dark
Suburban and quiet, with new low-density blocks and wide roads that empty early. No documented night-time crime pattern; the main practical issue is thin transport and little street life.
What to watch for
- Sparse foot traffic and lighting on newer peripheral streets
Staying here
Not useful for visitors - too far out with too little around it. Of interest to long-stay renters, not tourists.
