What Kouri is actually like
A small planned refugee settlement in Kalamaria, laid out around 1929-1930 with roughly 75 houses for some 229 families, its original residents refugees from Kouri in Asia Minor together with Constantinopolitans and other Anatolians. It is recorded alongside Katirli as Kouri-Katirli. Today it is a pocket of older low-rise stock among later apartment blocks. There is no crime reporting, safety commentary or travel coverage specific to Kouri; its record is Kalamaria's record. The nearest weekly street market (laiki) is Saturday's on Makrochoriou street, just beyond its edge.
