The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. A small northern pocket that has effectively been absorbed into the Anthoupoli neighbourhood, whose new apartment blocks now surround it. The name survives in local usage and in addresses rather than as a distinct district with its own centre. In practice it is northern suburban Patras: recent construction, wide roads, families and students on the convenient side for the university at Rio, and the Archaeological Museum nearby. There is nothing for a short-stay visitor. Against Anthoupoli proper there is no meaningful difference in character or risk, and neither appears anywhere in the 2024-2026 police or press crime reporting for the city.
Quiet and suburban, with decent lighting on the main roads and less on the residential side streets. No documented incidents, patrol priorities or burglary listings. Ordinary precautions are enough.
Fine for a longer stay on the university side of the city. Not worth it for a short visit, and poorly placed for an early Italy ferry at 6-7 km from the South Port gates.
