Ities scores 52 out of 100 for overall safety — average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. It is home to about 3,640 people at 618 people per km².
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Regional units are scored from Eurostat's police-recorded offence rates per 100,000 inhabitants. Greece publishes nothing finer, so municipalities and districts share out their region's measured rate by how built-up they are and by documented local reporting — treat those two levels as an estimate, not a count of reported crime.
A southern district whose name means the willows, lying in the belt around the Glafkos toward Lefka and Kryа Iteon. It is a plain residential area of post-war housing and small blocks with local shops, schools and a settled population; the local cultural association has campaigned for Ities and neighbouring Lefka to shake off the neglect and downgrading that characterises them, which is a fair description of the place — worn public space rather than crime. Against Kryа Iteon next door it is much the same; against Zarouchleika to the north it is smaller and has no documented policing profile of its own.
Quiet residential streets with patchy lighting and very little late footfall. Police drug reporting names the Lefka workers' housing, adjacent to Ities, among the spots where transactions take place in poorly lit corners, but does not name Ities itself.
No — almost nothing to book, nothing to see and no advantage over the centre. Being on the southern side helps marginally for an early Italy ferry, but you would still take a taxi.
