Δημοτική Κοινότητα Ελικίστρας · District

Modelled estimate — how it is made
68/100

By type of crime

Elikistra scores 68 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — below-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Elikistra has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 55 for property crime — and the 13 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Elikistra. It is home to about 1,538 people (2021 census).

The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Elikistra is actually like

Ordinary precautionsThe usual precautions apply. The note lists anything specific to this place.

An inland community of the Patras municipal unit on the western foothills of Panachaiko, east of the city. The community had 1,710 residents at the 2021 census, most of them in Romanos (695) and Karya (605); the village of Elikistra (also spelt Elekistra) itself, at about 380 m, had 276, and Ryaki and Pournarokastro the rest. Elikistra is about 10 km from the centre of Patras by road, some 20 minutes' drive, or 7 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou. It is a hill village of stone and modern houses, olive ground and a church, with a largely older population and some weekend residents, and it borders the Riganokampos ground on the city's eastern edge. No incident reporting at all. City bus 103 (Romanou - Elekistra) is a skeleton service: on the timetable in force from 11 September 2026 it makes one afternoon departure from the city on weekdays and runs no buses at weekends. None of the municipality's 24 street markets is held in the community.

After dark

Silent and very dark. No street lighting away from the village core and no through traffic. Nothing documented.
