Souliou scores 70 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — below-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Souliou has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 55 for property crime — and the 15 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Souliou. It is home to about 847 people (2021 census).
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Souliou is actually like
A community of the Patras municipal unit on the western slopes of Panachaiko south-east of the city. Almost all of its 1,090 residents at the 2021 census live in Neo Souli (1,048), about 7 km from the centre by road, some 15 minutes, or under 6 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou. The state built Neo Souli in the 1960s and 1970s after landslides forced people out of the old mountain village; the scattered hamlets of old Souli, at 500 to 1,250 m where the Glafkos and Vervenikos rivers meet, had 42 residents between them. Neo Souli is now treated as a suburb of Patras and borders the Riganokampos ground, and since 1993 it has hosted a folk-dance festival on the last weekend of July. No incident reporting at all. Patras city buses run here: route 702 (Souli) and route 707 (Souli - Saravali). None of the municipality's 24 street markets is held in the community.
After dark
Neo Souli is a quiet residential settlement after dark; the roads up to the old village are unlit mountain roads with no through traffic. Nothing documented.
What to watch for
- Unlit mountain roads to the old village at night
- Houses in the old village left empty midweek
Staying here
A residential suburb rather than a place to visit, workable for a longer stay with a car. No use for an early Italy ferry; allow 30-40 minutes to the South Port.
