It was empty ground until the Asia Minor catastrophe, when the fourth refugee settlement in Patras was created here and many refugees were housed. Today it is plain residential: the newly built parish church of Saints Anthony and Charalambos, the 19th Gymnasium of Patras and the Glafkos indoor sports hall sit here among post-war blocks and older houses. Nobody visits. Against Prosfygika, the first and much more heavily policed refugee settlement, Krya Iteon has no documented crime profile at all — a useful reminder that the refugee-settlement origin is not the variable that matters.

Little to book and nothing to see, so not a sensible short-stay choice. It is on the southern side, which shortens the run to the Italy ferries slightly, but take a taxi to the South Port gates.
Reputation against reality. Krya Iteon is sometimes lumped in with Prosfygika because both began as refugee settlements. The police and press record of 2024-2026 separates them clearly: Prosfygika appears repeatedly, Krya Iteon not at all.
