Property crime in Thea

Δημοτική Κοινότητα Θέας · District

Modelled estimate — how it is made
67/100

By type of crime

Thea scores 67 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — below-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Thea has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 55 for property crime — and the 12 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Thea. It is home to about 508 people (2021 census).

The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Thea is actually like

Ordinary precautionsThe usual precautions apply. The note lists anything specific to this place.

A village and community of the Messatida municipal unit on the rising ground south of Patras, about 11 km from the city centre (9 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou), bordering Kallithea, Mintilogli and Ovrya. The community had 538 residents at the 2021 census: 439 in Thea and the rest in Pavlokastro and Lygies. The village was recorded as Tsaplaneika in 1889 and renamed Thea, 'view', in 1955; Mycenaean remains have been excavated in the area, and its football club, A.O. Theas, was founded in 1997. A small hillside settlement of scattered houses with the view its name promises. No visitor infrastructure, and nothing in the 2024-2026 police or press record names Thea. City buses 803 and 804 (Kallithea - Thea) run here on weekdays and Saturdays but not on Sundays (timetable in force from 28 September 2026). The street markets the municipal regulation places in the Messatida unit are Monday's in Ovrya and Thursday's in Demenika.
