Nea Kypseli scores 34 out of 100 for property crime — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. It is home to about 9,351 people at 16,579 people per km².
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Almost nothing in the Greek press or in travel writing treats it as a place in its own right.
Residential quiet. No nightlife, no crowds, no particular hazard beyond empty streets and steep gradients.
Not somewhere to target, but harmless if a long-stay flat lands you here. Budget for buses or taxis, because you are a real walk from any metro.
Reputation against reality. Not named in the 2026 police plan or in any travel-safety guide found. The honest description is ordinary outer-Kypseli housing.
