What Pigada is actually like
One of the oldest neighbourhoods, on a low hill near the middle of the peninsula facing Kallipoli, named for a large well sunk when the first drinking-water cisterns were installed. It was grazing land with three mills before it was built up along Dexameni and Chatzikyriakou toward Agios Vasileios. The old reservoir ground is now a planted square. Its real function today is a junction linking Marina Zea, Chatzikyriakeio, central Piraeus and the harbour.
After dark
A traffic node rather than a nightlife spot, lit and overlooked, with cars passing steadily between the marina and the centre. Nothing documented here in 2024-26.
Staying here
Central, ordinary and within 15 minutes' walk of both Zea and the terminals, but with little purpose-built accommodation. Perfectly fine if a rental happens to be here; not somewhere to search out.
