Αγία Τριάδα · district
Agia Triada scores 35 out of 100 for overall safety — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. It is home to about 1,560 people at 618 people per km².
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Regional units are scored from Eurostat's police-recorded offence rates per 100,000 inhabitants. Greece publishes nothing finer, so municipalities and districts share out their region's measured rate by how built-up they are and by documented local reporting — treat those two levels as an estimate, not a count of reported crime.
A central-southern neighbourhood named for its church, lying between the lower city and Prosfygika. It is a plain, dense residential district of apartment blocks and older terraces with local shops, schools and a settled population, plus cheap lets that attract students and newcomers. Nobody visits it. Its position is what defines it: it sits directly on the edge of the district that dominates Hellenic Police reporting on Patras, and press coverage of police priorities has described the strip between Prosfygika and Plateia Voud. Against Agia Varvara on its other flank it is busier and more mixed, and it carries a flag that Agia Varvara does not.
Streets are ordinary and residential, but the stretch running toward Prosfygika is the part press reporting picks out. Lighting is variable and footfall drops off after midnight. Nothing in the 2025 or 2026 patrol lists names Agia Triada directly.
Not a first choice. It is central enough to be practical and cheap, but there is little formal accommodation and better-placed options exist a few streets north. For an early Italy ferry a taxi to the South Port is needed from anywhere here.
Reputation against reality. The flag on Agia Triada is entirely about its border with Prosfygika, not about the neighbourhood itself, and it comes from 2023 reporting. It is absent from the more recent patrol and burglary lists.
