The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Regional units are scored from Eurostat's police-recorded offence rates per 100,000 inhabitants. A residential district on the eastern slope of the city, its name meaning roughly a pleasing view, which is what the higher streets have. It is mid-century and later Patras: apartment blocks and detached houses on steep roads, families and older residents, a church, schools and local shops, with green edges toward the Girokomeio woodland above. Nothing draws a visitor. Compared with Agia Varvara and Pagona on the same side of the city, it is a little higher, a little newer and a little quieter, and like them it is entirely absent from the 2024-2026 police and press reporting on Patras crime.
Quiet and residential. Steep streets, ordinary lighting, very little late footfall. No documented incidents, patrol priorities or burglary-hotspot listings.
Fine for a quiet longer stay with a view, poor for a short visit — you are uphill from everything and a long way from the Italy ferry gates. Not a base for an early boat.
