Ellinoroson scores 31 out of 100 for violent crime — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. It is home to about 8,087 people at 16,579 people per km².
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Regional units are scored from Eurostat's police-recorded offence rates per 100,000 inhabitants. Greece publishes nothing finer, so municipalities and districts share out their region's measured rate by how built-up they are and by documented local reporting — treat those two levels as an estimate, not a count of reported crime.
Ellinoroson is a small urban extension of Ampelokipoi in the 7th municipal district, north of the junction of Katechaki and Mesogeion avenues and running up to the Neo Psychiko boundary. It was settled by Greek refugees from Russia, which gives it its name, and it borders Erythros Stavros, Girokomeio, Ampelokipoi and Neo Psychiko. Its main streets are Karatheodori and Adrianiou, the latter named after the Hadrianic aqueduct that ran through here.
Quiet, suburban in feel and almost entirely residential, with no bar strip and little through traffic. Katechaki metro is the practical link in and out.
Safe and well connected for commuting, but far from the sights and with nothing on the doorstep. Only worth booking for a work trip in the Mesogeion office corridor or a long-term relocation.
Reputation against reality. Effectively unknown outside Athens and absent from every safety discussion. Most listings will sell it as Ampelokipoi or Neo Psychiko.
