Monodendri scores 60 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for overall safety — average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Monodendri has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 51 for overall safety — and the 9 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Monodendri. It is home to about 721 people (2021 census).
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Monodendri is actually like
A coastal community of the Vrachnaiika municipal unit strung out along the shore south-west of Patras, about 10 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou, bordering Vrachneika, Roitika, Mintilogli and Paralia. It had 572 residents at the 2021 census (721 in 2011). It is a summer destination for Patras, a close and safe choice for a swim with many places to eat, and famously has no parish church of its own. It is on the municipal sewerage scheme for the southern villages, which was nearing completion in July 2026. City buses run here on route 501 (its Monodendri branch, via Roitika) and route 505 (Vrachneika - Monodendri), and the suburban railway stops at Vrachneika. The municipal street-market regulation lists no market in the Vrachnaiika unit; the nearest is Paralia's, on Friday mornings. No incident reporting names Monodendri.

Staying here
A cheap quiet base with a car. Close enough to the South Port to be workable for an Italy sailing if you allow time.
