What Arachovitika is actually like
A coastal community of the Rio municipal unit east of the bridge, part of the northern shore strip with Drepano and Psathopyrgos, about 13 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou in central Patras. It is made up of two settlements: Arachovitika itself, with 396 residents at the 2021 census, and Kato Arachovitika on the shore at 5 m, with 350, the Olympia Odos motorway passing just south of it. Kato Arachovitika's beach has been developed with hotels and its residents work largely in summer tourism; the area also has thermal springs known since antiquity. Cape Drepano next door is a windsurfing and kitesurfing spot. Summer houses, beaches and tavernas; busy in season, quiet out of it. None of the Patras city-bus lines runs here, and the nearest street market in the municipal regulation is Rio's, on Tuesday mornings. No incident reporting names Arachovitika specifically.
