Argyra scores 69 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for overall safety — below-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Argyra has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Patras's rate — Patras scores 51 for overall safety — and the 18 points between them come from how the model shares Patras's total out, not from anything measured in Argyra. It is home to about 288 people (2021 census).
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Argyra is actually like
A mountain village and community of the Rio municipal unit on the Panachaiko foothills at 288 m, 8 km from Rio and about 12 km in a straight line from Plateia Georgiou in central Patras, with 210 residents at the 2021 census, down from 288 in 2011. A small upland village of stone houses, springs and plane trees with a mainly older resident population and weekenders from Patras; until 1928 it was called Averna, and the historians of Patras link it with ancient Arva. No institutions, no visitor infrastructure beyond a taverna or two, no Patras city bus, and no incident reporting in the 2024-2026 record.
After dark
Silent and very dark, with no street lighting away from the core and no through traffic. Nothing documented.
What to watch for
