Tabouria scores 39 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Tabouria has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Piraeus's rate — Piraeus scores 38 for property crime — and the 1 point between them comes from how the model shares Piraeus's total out, not from anything measured in Tabouria. An estimated 11,274 people live there: the 2021 census counts the surrounding community as a whole, and this is its share by area.
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Tabouria is actually like
A big historic district straddling the Piraeus-Keratsini boundary, filling the north-west corner of the city, bordering Nikaia to the north, Kopi to the south and Agia Sofia to the east. The name comes from the earthwork redoubts Karaiskakis threw up here in 1827. The population is mixed: families from the Mani around Agios Dimitrios, descendants of Asia Minor refugees around Agios Panteleimon and the Ypapanti church, founded 1924. Its weekly street market (laiki) is on Fridays, 07:30-15:30, and moves between Doganis and Spartis streets during the year.
After dark
Quiet residential streets on a plain grid, little street life beyond the church squares, and few reasons for outsiders to be there after dark. No incidents documented in Tabouria specifically in 2024-26; drug enforcement has focused on the freight port and on Nikaia and Korydallos.
Staying here
No visitor accommodation worth the name, no metro, and a long way from every ferry gate. Skip it; there is nothing to gain by booking here.
Reputation against reality. Tabouria is the district most often named in casual 'avoid western Piraeus' advice, but almost none of the 2024-26 documented incidents in the Piraeus area are located there. Treat it as unremarkable and unvisited rather than dangerous.
