Property crime in Vryoni

Βρυώνη · District

Modelled estimate — how it is made
39/100

By type of crime

Vryoni scores 39 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for property crime — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Vryoni has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Piraeus's rate — Piraeus scores 38 for property crime — and the 1 point between them comes from how the model shares Piraeus's total out, not from anything measured in Vryoni. An estimated 4,280 people live there: the 2021 census counts the surrounding community as a whole, and this is its share by area.

The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Vryoni is actually like

Ordinary precautionsThe usual precautions apply. The note lists anything specific to this place.

A small central district at the start of Iroon Polytechniou, wedged between Terpsithea and Ydraiika and running toward Freattyda, with Sachtouri as its boundary. It sits above Akti Miaouli by the port exhibition hall, minutes from the cruise and ferry frontage. The name comes from Ioannis Vryonis, a merchant who arrived from the Russian east in the late 19th century and built a landmark house with a gothic clock dome. Today it is purely residential with shops and offices. The nearest markets are Neo Faliro's Monday street market (laiki) on Zaimi street, 07:30-15:30, and the organic producers' market on Plateia Pigadas on Wednesday afternoons, 14:00-18:00, both about 250-300 m beyond its edge.

After dark

Central enough that people move through at all hours between the port and Pasalimani, and overlooked by apartments. Nothing documented here in 2024-26.

Staying here

One of the better-kept secrets for a ferry night: residential calm, a short flat walk to Akti Miaouli and the terminals, five minutes to Dimotiko Theatro metro. Little hotel choice, so book early.
