Neo Faliro scores 37 out of 100 (modelled estimate, Eurostat 2021–2024) for violent crime — above-average crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. Neo Faliro has no police figures of its own. Its estimate is Piraeus's rate — Piraeus scores 36 for violent crime — and the 1 point between them comes from how the model shares Piraeus's total out, not from anything measured in Neo Faliro. An estimated 16,820 people live there: the 2021 census counts the surrounding community as a whole, and this is its share by area.
The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate of Greece as a whole and every doubling of the rate costs the same points, so any two places compare directly. How the scores are made

What Neo Faliro is actually like
The eastern edge of Piraeus on Faliro bay, bounded by Thivon to the north and Dodekanisou toward Kaminia, cut off from the sea by the elevated Poseidonos avenue. A stadium district: Karaiskaki, home of Olympiacos, and the SEF arena, plus the ISAP station and the tram terminus. Most visitors come for a match, a concert or the tram.
After dark
Ordinary and quiet except on event nights, when crowds, road closures and occasional disorder around Karaiskaki change things; police have identified participants in clashes outside the ground. The municipality's July 2026 meeting flagged the SEF traffic islands as a problem site.
Staying here
Cheap and well connected, about 10 minutes by metro from the port, but do not book here on a matchday if you value sleep. For an early ferry you are adding a train leg you do not need.
Reputation against reality. Its bad nights are football nights, not a background condition; on a normal Tuesday it is an unremarkable residential district.
