The upper half of the Sychaina settlement on the north-eastern edge of the city, recognised as a settlement again in 1951 and attached to the then Municipality of Patras. Today Ano Sychaina is a semi-suburban district of detached houses and small blocks on rising ground, with new squares laid out by the municipality and an active property market.
