Metamorfosi Sotiros violent crime

Μεταμόρφωση Σωτήρος · district

46/100

Metamorfosi Sotiros scores 46 out of 100 for violent crimeaverage crime, on a scale where 50 is the average for Greece. It is home to about 2,759 people at 618 people per km².

The score is absolute, not a ranking: 50 is the offence rate for Greece as a whole, 100 the safest end of the scale and 0 the least safe, and every doubling of the rate costs the same number of points wherever you are. Regional units are scored from Eurostat's police-recorded offence rates per 100,000 inhabitants. Greece publishes nothing finer, so municipalities and districts share out their region's measured rate by how built-up they are and by documented local reporting — treat those two levels as an estimate, not a count of reported crime.

What Metamorfosi Sotiros is actually like

Ordinary city precautionsNo specific problem on record beyond what any dense city centre has.

A southern district named after its parish church, south of the Glafkos river on the boundary between the former Kapodistrian municipalities of Patras and Messatida. It developed after 1970 and most of its residents came from the Tritaia area and the villages of Farai, which gives it the feel of a recent, self-made suburb: detached and semi-detached houses, newer blocks, local shops and a strong village-association culture. There is nothing to visit. Against Kryа Iteon and Zarouchleika on the city side of the river it is newer, lower-density and absent from every police patrol and burglary listing in the 2024-2026 record.

After dark

Quiet suburban streets with reasonable lighting on the main roads and less on the lanes; the river corridor is dark. Little late footfall. No documented incidents, patrol priorities or burglary listings name Metamorfosi Sotiros.

What to watch for

  • The Glafkos river corridor and unlit lanes after dark
  • Isolated houses on the outer edges — standard burglary precautions

Staying here

Fine for a quiet longer stay with a car. Not useful for a short visit, though it is at least on the southern, ferry-facing side of the city; allow for a taxi to the South Port gates.
