Violent crime in Paralia

The seat of its own municipal unit on the southern shore and a small town in its own right, with 5,378 residents at the 2021 census, about 6 km from the centre of Patras by road; the Kokkinos Mylos quarter straddles the boundary with the city. It is the first of the coastal settlements as you leave Patras heading south-west, with a beach, tavernas, a mix of permanent and summer housing and, on the seafront, the neoclassical mansions known as the Englezika. It has four kindergartens, three primary schools, two lower-secondary schools, a general and a vocational upper-secondary school, the Patras ecclesiastical lyceum, a citizens' service centre (KEP) and, since 2018, a local health unit (TOMY). It is on the municipal sewerage scheme for the southern villages, which was nearing completion in July 2026. City buses 501 and 502 run through it, and the suburban railway stops at Paralia (Eva) and Tsaousi - Mintilogli. Its weekly street market (laiki) is on Friday mornings on Agias Theodoras Vasta street, between 25is Martiou and Kapetan Giannia. Paralia Patron is one of the settlements a coastal burglary ring worked between October 2025 and April 2026.
