A suburb in the south-eastern part of Patras, about 6 km from the centre, home to facilities of the Hellenic Open University and the closed Apollon gymnasium with a capacity of 3,500. It is a spread-out residential area of detached houses, newer blocks and open ground on the lower slopes, with a mix of families, staff and students, and the Patras ring road not far off. It borders Riganokampos on the city's eastern edge — Riganokampos is not a separate district in our data, and it sits between here and Eglykada. Against Eglykada it is quieter, less industrial and, importantly, absent from the burglary-hotspot lists.
Quiet and spread out, with dark stretches between built-up pockets and unlit open ground toward the eastern edge. Event nights at the Apollon hall bring crowds and traffic. No documented incidents, patrol priorities or burglary listings name Perivola itself.
Fine for a longer stay if you have a car or are here for the Open University. Not worth it for a short visit, and a poor base for an early Italy ferry at 7-8 km from the South Port gates.
